At least four people have been killed and 14 others injured following a drive-by shooting outside a popular nightclub in Chicago.

At least four people have been killed and 14 others left injured in a drive-by shooting outside a nightclub in Chicago.

Police are searching for the vehicle after it fled the scene following the shooting at the Artis Lounge nightclub on Wednesday night local time (Thursday night AEDT).

Police said the shooting happened happened at the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue in the city in the midwestern US state of Illinois.

The shooting apparently happened as people were leaving the nightclub following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz, CBS news reported.

The same block was also the scene of a mass shooting in November 2022, when the same nightclub was known as Hush Lounge.

One person was killed and three others wounded after a fight broke out among group that had been thrown out of Hush.

Police shut down the Hush nightclub after that shooting, and Artis Lounge later opened in the same location.
