Grovedale coach Jordan Moran has dismissed rumours that GCA4 star Philip Visser is moving to the Tigers at the end of the season.
There had been whispers that the gun bat, who leads all grades of the GCA in total runs with 604 at an average of 120.8 for the GCA4 ladder leaders Waurn Ponds Deakin, was on the move to the GCA1 side for the 2023-24 season.
Moran confirmed the points situation at Grovedale meant the star Eagle was not a target signing.
Waurn Ponds Deakin president Daniel Breen also said it was nothing more than a rumour at this point.
“It’s the first I have heard of it,” he said.
“Phil has come across as an international player on exchange, I’ve not heard anything (about any move) like that.”
Visser has clearly impressed during his time in Geelong, becoming the only player ever to be selected for the GCA’s Country Week squad out of the fourth division.
