Vote for Geelong’s best player from Hawthorn Easter Monday match up

No surprises on who topped this week’s Addy Fan MVP but it was a welcome return to form by two veterans that won over Cats fans.

Jeremy Cameron’s stunning form has seen him kick clear to the top of the leaderboard in the Geelong Addy Fan MVP.

The superstar Cat could be among the leaders in the Brownlow Medal after the first month of the season, after best-on-ground performances against Carlton and Hawthorn.

Cameron was everywhere on Easter Monday, booting seven goals, including three in the first half to keep Geelong in the game.

He finished with 20 kicks and two assists on top of his 7.1 to earn the maximum five votes from the fans in our weekly poll.

The red-hot Cat earnt praise in all quarters after his effort on Monday, including from teammate Jake Kolodjashnij.

“He is an absolute ripper, he is an absolute larrikin as you can imagine in the locker room,” Kolodjashnij said.

“He brings really good energy among the boys, he is a star player and someone we can rely on in clutch moments and he is a proven performer.

“He is good to have in the locker room and even better on field.”

Cameron has now jumped to 15 votes for the year, well ahead of second-placed Tom Stewart (eight votes).

The star Cat now leads the expert rolling tally, based on the Geelong Addy’s footy writers, with 14 votes, ahead of Isaac Smith (11).

Veteran Mitch Duncan’s first game of the season was well received by Cats fans, as he polled four votes, after gathering a game-high 31 disposals in typically clean fashion off half-back.

Forward Tom Hawkins was recognised for the first time this year in a return to form as he booted two goals and picked up three votes from the fans, tying with Stewart.

While Gary Rohan got himself in trouble for a sling tackle on Hawthorn defender Changkuoth Jiath, his tireless defensive work landed him one vote.

The Addy Fan MVP will go live in the moments after each Cats game as we hand the power to the readers in our rolling Geelong best-and-fairest.

Votes come in for round 4 MVP

It took some time but the Cats finally got humming on Monday.

After a slow first half in which Jeremy Cameron kept the Cats afloat there were plenty of winners in that dominant third term.

Who was your best?

Was it a breakthrough from Max Holmes, a return to form from Tom Hawkins, Patrick Dangerfield’s power or somebody else?

For those new to the game, each week in the minutes after the final siren, the Geelong Addy will open the floor to the fan to decide on their best player.

Votes calculated from our weekly poll will be added up into a rolling best-and-fairest score.

Unsurprisingly, star forward Jeremy Cameron led the fan vote after three games, having polled 10 votes.

Evergreen veteran Isaac Smith sat in second place on seven votes, with Smith leading the Addy expert votes, as compiled by our team of footy writers.
