Woman dead, three in hospital after Everton collision

One woman has died and three people have been flown to hospital following a collision in Everton on Saturday.

A woman is dead and three others, including a seven year old girl, have been airlifted to hospital following a major collision in Everton Upper yesterday.

It is believed that a Mazda CX8 and Volkswagen Tiguan collided on Beechworth-Wangaratta Road just after 3.30pm.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 74-year-old Beechworth woman died at the scene.

An 80-year old Port Fairy woman was airlifted to the Alfred hospital after sustaining upper body injuries and is now in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Mazda, a 41-year-old Beechworth woman, and her 7-year old passenger were also airlifted to hospital.

The 41-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries and is in a serious but stable condition.

The child was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition for further assessment.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.
