A superyacht revolution is set to bring a touch of Monaco and Euro-luxe glamour to Melbourne during this year’s F1 Grand Prix.
Forget ballrooms and rooftops, the largest commercial superyacht in the South Pacific, Mischief, will be berthed at the Docklands Marina during the four days of the Grand Prix next month, providing the ultimate private party space. Superyachts are the next frontier of exclusive venues for Melbourne thrill seekers.
The allure of a superyacht is hard to deny, being the domain of the seriously rich and a playground reserved for VIPs and the very well connected.
They are the next level of elite in terms of status and are a fixture in Monaco in the South of France and other Mediterranean and Caribbean ports.
Boat parties in the Monaco harbour during the Grand Prix are at the peak of desirability.
Next month’s F1 Grand Prix will mark the first foray into Melbourne for Ahoy Club, an Australian based global yacht chart and sales business.
“Every year in Monaco, we host one of the most talked-about events on-board Coral Ocean (Ahoy Club’s 73m long superyacht) during race week; pure luxury, high-end hospitality, and VIP guests,” said Ahoy Club CEO Ellie Malouf.
“Celebrities and elite guests have partied at our afterparties, and now we’re bringing that same energy to Melbourne with Mischief. This is Monaco-style glamour, right on home soil.”
Malouf said partying on Mischief was the ultimate addition to a GP experience.
“An exclusive afterparty on a 54m superyacht at Docklands Superyacht Marina is the perfect way to continue the celebrations after a day at the track,” she said.
“This is high-end hospitality at its finest. Australians don’t need to fly to Monaco to experience this level of luxury. For the first time, we’re bringing international VIP hospitality to Melbourne, so you can experience the glamour of Monaco without leaving the country.”
Tickets are available via ahoyclub.com for an exclusive party on-board Mischief on Grand Prix eve, Saturday, March 15.
The sleek superyacht has already been snapped up for a gala function on the Friday night of the GP carnival, but the floating party palace is available for hire on March 12, 13 and Sunday, March 16.
Malouf said there was great potential for growth in the superyacht industry in Melbourne.
“Melbourne has a world-class events calendar and with the growing demand for luxury experiences, superyachts are the next frontier,” she said.
“Bringing Mischief to Melbourne during race week is just the beginning. We see a huge opportunity for more high-end charters and VIP activations in Melbourne in the future.”
