The actions of balaclava-clad protesters chanting racist slurs in the Docklands have been condemned by police.

The actions of balaclava-clad protesters chanting racist slurs in the Docklands have been condemned by police.

A video seen by the Herald Sun shows the faceless group of about 20 people, dressed in black clothing, holding a banner which read “solve black crime, send them back”.

One member of the group was heard chanting “Australia for the white man” and “the time has come to send them back to where they belong.”

A Victoria Police spokesman condemned the behaviour: “There is absolutely no place for antisemitic, racist or hate-based behaviour in our society and police will not tolerate such activity.”

The protest comes three weeks after a similar demonstration, where protesters took to the Northland shopping centre following a horrific machete attack.

In a similar fashion, the group wore masks, donned racist banners and shouted anti-immigration rhetoric.

Police were called to the scene, but the protesters had left before their arrival.

No arrests were made.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
