A man in his 30s who was out for a run has died in a horror crash on Belgrave-Hallam Road.

A man has died after a car struck him while he was out running in Melbourne’s southeast.

Police are investigating the deadly two vehicle collision in Narre Warren North on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a dark grey Ford ute allegedly veered into a Mazda 3 on Belgrave-Hallam Road, before the ute lost control and crossed a footpath colliding with the pedestrian.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 2.45pm.

The yet to be identified male pedestrian – believed to be in his 30s – was declared dead at the scene.

The male driver of the Ford ute was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the Mazda is in a stable condition in hospital and will be spoken to by police.

Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash anyone who witnessed the collision or with footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
