Hawthorn legend Don Scott was trying to do a good deed for a friend and it backfired — literally.
Scott and former Tigers coach Tony Jewell went to their old footy mate Mal Brown’s place in Portsea to mow his lawns.
But Scott forgot to put the handbrake on his ute and it rolled back through the fence, ruining the lush greenery at the front of the property.
The RACV came five hours later to tow the car out but unfortunately they couldn’t manage to get it done.
A crane was called and then former footballer Nick Stevens rocked up and came to the rescue by pulling it out.
Scott was a very relieved man — but Brown now needs to call a gardener.
