Firefighters have been called to three separate blazes overnight in Melbourne, two of which are being treated as suspicious.
A shisha lounge in Melbourne’s outer north has been destroyed in a suspicious blaze in the early hours of Friday morning.
Firefighters rushed to Lavina Night about 1:50am, following reports of smoke and flames coming out of the second story of the venue.
Crews worked for 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Police are investigating the incident and said an arson chemist will be on the scene on Friday.
There were no occupants in the building at the time.
Fire crews were later called to a factory fire in Preston at 2:40am.
Flames engulfed the building and spread to a neighbouring property on Dundas St.
Nine trucks and 50 firefighters worked for more than two hours to bring the blaze under control about 5am.
Fire Rescue Victoria said the incident was also being treated as suspicious.
A community warning was issued due to smoke in the area and residents were advised to avoid Dundas St due to the number of fire trucks on scene.
Firefighters also attended a house fire in Viewbank, a suburb in Melbourne’s northeast, about 1:30am.
All occupants were safely evacuated from the home on De Burgh Ct and were assessed by paramedics for smoke exposure.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
