The media giant and former senator has shared a shock photo of his badly bruised face, which he says makes him look like he “lost 10 rounds with Lionel Rose”.

Media giant and former senator Derryn Hinch has taken to Facebook to share his beaten and bruised purple face after taking a pre-Christmas tumble.

In a post also featuring his partner and rekindled love Lynda Stoner, Hinch wrote: “I had a pre-Xmas fall, smacked my nose and, as a consequence, blacked both my eyes. I didn’t post this pic earlier because I did not want to pass on bad news at Christmas,” he said.

“Looked like I lost 10 rounds with Lionel Rose. So, this was my Christmas Day pic with Lynda.”

Thursday’s admission followed another health update from Hinch this month, posting to X: “In hospital this week for electric shock to my heart to regulate heart rhythm. Guess you can now call me a shock jock.”
