Armed teens arrested after 28-hour robbery rampage

Teenagers armed with knives and a baseball bat hit 20 locations in 28 hours, using a stolen Mercedes to steal cigarettes, alcohol, and cash.

Teenagers armed with knives, a hammer and a baseball bat targeted 20 petrol stations and bottle shops in just over 24 hours before their arrests.

Police allege their stolen luxury Mercedes was used to steal smokes, booze and cash before they dumped their wheels at Pakenham on Thursday morning.

The crew began their extraordinary alleged crime crusade in the city’s west where they are accused of storming a tobacconist on Shaws Rd in Werribee before 10pm Tuesday.

The three male offenders were allegedly armed with a knife during that ordeal.

Five minutes later, the crew, allegedly armed with a knife and baseball bat, are accused of targeting a nearby convenience store before fleeing in the Mercedes.

The group of offenders allegedly went on to target a fast food restaurant and service station in Truganina.

They were seen wearing ski masks while armed with weapons late on Tuesday night.

They then struck service stations in Laverton North, Williams Landing, Oakleigh, Nunawading and two at Bentleigh East.

Police believe the same crew in the same stolen Mercedes went again on Wednesday night.

Detectives say it was seen during another five armed robberies at petrol stations in Doncaster East, Mount Waverley, Clarinda, Clayton South and Braeside.

The teenagers are accused of hitting those service stations between 1am and 2.15am on Thursday morning.

Their car had also been spotted at another separate six armed robberies at bottle shops and restaurants earlier in the evening.

No one was injured during the 28-hour crime spree but significant damage was done to several stores.

Their extraordinary alleged offending was ground to a halt after they dumped the Mercedes at Olivia Court in Pakenham just after 6am.

Two boys, aged 15 and 17 from Melbourne’s southeast, were arrested and are being quizzed.

An alleged accomplice fled the scene.
