A Townsville mother-of-three accused of forging health documents and forcing her children to take medication, will fight the charges in a trial during February 2023.
The mother, who cannot be named to protect her children, pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned on 24 charges in Townsville District Court on Friday.
They include one count of fraudulently producing/using any record which is false, one count of using a thing to forge a document, and 22 counts of wounding – domestic violence offence.
In a previous court hearing, police alleged she medicated and treated her three children, aged between six and 11 years old, for conditions they didn’t have throughout 2020.
It will be alleged she supplied the forged documents to medical centres, doctors and schools to gain access to the medication her children, for conditions they did not have which could have caused them serious harm.
Police believe at one point the children were treated for allergies they didn’t have, which allegedly included the use of an EpiPen usually used for anaphylactic reactions.
Her legal representative, defence lawyer Phil Rennick sought a trial listing for early 2023.
He expected the trial to run for four to five days.
