Townsville Red Rooster, KFC outlets targeted by brazen armed robbers

Police are investigating after two fast-food outlets in Townsville were targeted by armed robbers in less than an hour.

Police are investigating after two fast-food outlets in Townsville were targeted by armed robbers in less than an hour.

Detectives from the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch are on the hunt for two male suspects following the armed robbery of a Red Rooster in Aitkenvale on Saturday.

Initial investigations indicate two men entered the Ross River Road business around 8.20pm, and one of the men used a weapon to demand money from employees.

The pair fled the scene on foot with an amount of money.

There was also an armed robbery of the KFC on Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan about 9pm on Saturday.

Police said investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
