The Cowboys made the most of the Easter long weekend, enjoying some of the best North Queensland has to offer.
Following three straight wins, last weekend’s bye round came at the perfect time for the team, allowing them to spend time with friends and family over Easter and soak up the warm weather.
The Cowboys took to social media to share their getaways and memories from the weekend.
Second rowers Karl Lawton and John Bateman made the most of the days off, spending the weekend on sunny Hamilton Island.
Bateman shared photos on Instagram showing the pair enjoying time with their partners and children.
The duo also shared a photo together, which Lawson described on his own Instagram as “dress up as each other” night.
Halfback Jake Clifford spent the weekend away with his partner and children, with social media posts marking the Easter bunny’s arrival.
Co-captain Reuben Cotter made the most of the sunshine and cooler weather, enjoying time with his family at the beach.
The side will face the Gold Coast Titans at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday, April 26 for the team’s annual defence round.
Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said this year’s jersey had significance not only for Townsville, but the entire North Queensland and Defence Force communities.
“What I want to say straight away to the 3rd Brigade, is to say thank you,” Reibel said.
“We partner with the 3rd Brigade, and indeed the Defence Force here in Townsville, on many levels, and every time we do partner, I think we’re a better club for that partnership, and we’re a better club coming out of that partnership.
The clash comes off the back of three straight wins, and the Cowboys will be hoping to keep the momentum up this weekend.
Saturday’s match will mark winger Murray Taulagi’s 100th game.
