A man who allegedly killed a teen in a hit and run incident has had his matter rescheduled in court after he was hospitalised.

Raphael Steven Woodhouse who is charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm was set to be arraigned on Thursday but his matter was adjourned due to him being hospitalised.

His defence lawyer, Michael Hibble, said they were unsure how long he would remain in hospital.

Mr Woodhouse was charged last year in relation to a fatal traffic crash in Heatley which killed 19-year-old Michael Wehrman.

Last year a Queensland Police spokesman said it would be alleged a silver Holden Commodore driven by Mr Woodhouse was travelling in the opposite direction as a Husqvarna motorcycle along Dalrymple Service Road when they crashed.

Mr Wehrman sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later.

No pleas have been entered.

Mr Woodhouse remains bail-refused and his matter was adjourned to May 14.
