Townsville’s Adam and Donny from Star 106.3 are undertaking a 24-hour live broadcast this Friday to rescue Christmas for families at Ronald McDonald House Charities.

With the festive season fast approaching, the charity house is facing a critical shortage, currently holding only half the usual volume of toy donations.

No strangers to charitable feats, the breakfast hosts are pulling out all stops to ensure every child receives a gift.

Donny, known for his previous endurance challenges, admits the 24-hour stint with new co-host Adam presents a unique test of their on-air chemistry.

“It’ll be VERY INTERESTING,” he quipped, referencing the rapid relationship development, albeit without the “getting married bit.”

The “Toy-A-Thon” kicks off at 8:00am this Friday, December 12, at Toy World Domain Central.

A star-studded lineup will join them, including mayor Nick Dametto bouncing on a trampoline, Townsville Mendi Blackhawks players, and a festive performance by the cast of Mamma Mia.

The duo will also face 24 hourly challenges, from walking on Lego to wrapping paper speed tests.

Residents are urged to purchase a toy in-store at Toy World and donate it directly under the tree.

As a thank you, donors can scan a QR code for a chance to win $500 cash.

The broadcast runs non-stop until at least 8:00am Saturday.
