A North Queensland murder case continues to drag its feet as a significant number of statements remain outstanding along with other evidence involved from the initial investigations.

Police have alleged that 39-year-old Aurukun man Bruce Martin was stabbed in a Railway Estate home last year and authorities charged three people in relation to the matter.

Candis Nicole Greer, Daniel John Hook and Damen Scott Leaney had their charges mentioned by their legal reps in Townsville Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

Police prosecutor Lennon Stathoulis said partial briefs had been given to each defence lawyer, however noted that the affidavit included was “unhelpful” and didn’t provide an estimated time frame for when the outstanding material would be submitted.

Magistrate Richard Lehmann acknowledged there were at least 40 statements outstanding in addition to telecommunication and DNA evidence.

Ms Greer and Mr Hook have both been charged with murder, deprivation of liberty, entering a dwelling with intent at night and threatening violence, with Mr Hook’s legal representation changing recently to Phil Rennick from Rennick Law.

Mr Leaney has been charged with the same offences with the addition of obstructing police and contravening an order from authorities.

All lawyers requested an adjournment to properly advise what was outstanding from the briefs of evidence.

No pleas have been entered.

His Honour adjourned the matters to October 8 in Townsville Magistrates Court.
