Townsville man the lucky winner of $1.2m Stocklands Lotto ticket
A Townsville man who claimed a winning $1.2m Lotto ticket has chalked his success up to ‘brainstorming’ sessions.

A Townsville resident identified as the mystery winner of a $1.2m Saturday Gold Lotto win has credited his sudden turnaround in luck to weekly “brainstorming” sessions in which he plots and plans the numbers he’ll use.
The man, who picked up the winning ticket at The Lucky Charm shop in Stockland Plaza on Ross River Road, was identified after a public call to arms for entrants to check their tickets.
“Goodness me!” were the fateful first words the man yelled upon finding out he’d won $1,266,906.25.
“I just can’t believe it.
“I use different marked numbers for each game, and you know what my strategy is?
“Each week, I sit down and have a thinking session for 30 minutes, brainstorming which numbers to choose.
“I’ve done that for years.
“I would always wonder, ‘how do these people pick the winning numbers?’.
“Thank you so much.”
The lucky winner said he’d be happy to share his winnings with those closest to him.
“This is wonderful. My sons and daughters will be pleased to know I’ll be splitting it with them.
“I can’t forget the grandchildren either. One’s been wanting a new phone.”
Lucky Charm owners Morris and Annette Peluchetti said they were thrilled to deliver another Division One win to one of their customers.
“We’re very excited as we haven’t had a Division One winner for some time – give or take about eight years,” Mr Peluchetti said.
“This major lottery win will make it our sixth Division One win.
“Congratulations to the winner. We hope he enjoys his treasure and it makes life much easier for him.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4403 on September 30 were 20, 45, 43, 27, 6 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 36 and 9.
