Oasis Townsville is launching a new podcast to help veterans transition out of service.

‘Homebase — Purpose after Service’ is sponsored by Rotary Mundingburra and will be a compelling series delving into the inspiring stories of veterans and their families as they navigate life after service.

The podcast will be hosted by Oasis Townsville executive leader Angie Barsby and planning co-ordinator Steve Lowe.

Barsby said ‘Homebase’ would shed light on the challenges faced during transition and the remarkable ways guests have found purpose in civilian life through personal narratives and candid conversations, offering valuable insights, support, and hope for those embarking on a similar journey.

“We are thrilled to launch this podcast as a resource for our veteran community,” she said.

“Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be challenging, and we want to provide our veterans with the tools and support they need to thrive in their post-service lives.”

Mundingburra Rotary Club president Peter Kaye said the club was proud to sponsor the launch of the podcast.

“We believe in the power of sharing stories and insights to inspire and inform our community,” he said.

“With past and serving members of the defence in our club, Mundingburra Rotary Club understands first-hand the vital purpose of Oasis.

“We have seen our members benefit from their support since retiring from the ADF and are committed to contributing to such meaningful initiatives.”

Listeners can look forward to personal stories from veterans who have successfully navigated the transition process, gaining valuable insights from professionals working closely with the veteran community.

A pilot episode will be released mid-next week, with the first episode of “Homebase – Purpose after Service” released on July 24. New episodes will be available every month on major platforms such as Apple, Spotify, and Google.
