An SES volunteer has been rewarded for her passionate support of the North Queensland Cowboys after claiming four cash prizes totalling $22,000 in a charity raffle since 2020.

A State Emergency Service volunteer has been rewarded for her passionate support of the North Queensland Cowboys and the community with four – and counting – cash-prize wins totalling more than $22,000 in the 50-50 Charity Raffle since 2020.
“I’m living proof that you’ve got to be in it to win it,” an ecstatic Linda White said.
“Just get out there and buy the tickets and support the team and the community, you win either way.”
“Lucky Linda”, a member of the original cheer squad and club since 1994, can be heard in full voice at every home game she can attend.
With a $15,000 win in the 50-50 Charity Raffle at the last home game, Mrs White has now taken home in excess of $22,000.
There is another $10,000 cash prize guarantee this Saturday as part of the raffle, with one person walking away with $10k and the remaining 50 per cent for the Cowboys Community Foundation.
Mrs White is a long-time volunteer with the SES, including the response to the recent floods in North and South-East Queensland, and runs a women’s motorcycle club that raises funds to fight breast cancer.
She said she normally spends about $20 in the charity raffle, and Saturday would be no different.
“With the $10,000 guaranteed cash prize last game I did sneak an extra $50 when my husband wasn’t looking, but I think he has forgiven me,” she laughed.
“We’re very grateful to have won such amazing cash prizes but it’s really a bonus because supporting our team and the Cowboys’ charity is the main reason I keep buying tickets.”
Mrs White received her winner’s cheque from Cowboys Community Foundation fund-raising manager Bec Gravelle, a member of Linda’s inaugural cheer squad.
“It’s one of the Foundation’s key fund-raising activities, which not only produces lucky winners like Linda but also generates vital funds to support the delivery of our community programs,” she said.
“Every ticket truly makes a difference and the more we sell, the bigger the difference we can make.”
