Olympic golden girl of the pool Ariarne Titmus appears to have a new man in her life, spotted cuddling up with her new partner after meeting at the races.
While his identity has remained a mystery — until now — Scoop understands she is reportedly dating Mac Powell, an investment analyst from Melbourne.
Powell, who is in his late twenties and graduated from RMIT in 2018, is believed to be the man spotted cuddling up to Titmus in a photo she shared from the Australian Open, where she was working with Channel 9.
“We met three months ago, and I’m very happy,” Titmus reportedly told the Herald Sun at Melbourne Park, though she has yet to publicly confirm her new beau’s identity.
Since returning from her Paris Olympics triumph — where she claimed two more gold medals, including the unforgettable 400m freestyle battle against Katie Ledecky and Summer McIntosh — Titmus has been spending more time in Melbourne.
Insiders suggest Powell could be the reason why, with whispers the pair may have first met at the Melbourne Cup last year.
While Titmus remains on a well-earned break from the pool, one thing is certain — she’s enjoying life both in and out of the water.
PROPERTY QUEEN TO PRIME-TIME VILLAIN OVERNIGHT
Brisbane’s Tamara Hall has gone from property queen to primetime villain. The award-winning Brisbane real estate agent, 34, made waves on Married At First Sight after a fiery on-air meltdown at her sister’s wedding.
While her antics may be TV gold, locals in the Bayside, where Hall primarily does business, are not amused. Social media erupted with criticism.
Her real estate business is now under scrutiny, with criticism of her tactics and bus stop ads. Hall isn’t backing down, blaming “heavily edited” footage for her portrayal.
“I understand that reality TV is designed for entertainment, and I respect that people will have their opinions. However, what truly matters to me is the trust and reputation I’ve earned in my industry and the high standard of service I provide to my clients. That is what defines me, not a few minutes of edited footage,” Hall said.
“What people saw was a highly edited version of a very long 18-hour filming day, condensed into a short episode.
“I’m not making excuses — my sister and I love each other, and emotions ran high. But people who know me personally — my family, my friends, and my clients — understand that a few moments on TV don’t reflect who I truly am.”
Hall said that she had built her reputation as a real estate businesswoman over 17 years, “with the past seven years dedicated to running a successful business”.
“I take pride in my work, my integrity, and the relationships I’ve built with my clients and colleagues.
“Social media is a powerful tool, but it’s also a space where narratives are shaped without full context.”
WHERE HAS HENRY CAVILL BEEN HIDING IN QLD?
Hollywood heavyweight Henry Cavill has been in Queensland for nearly a month, filming Voltron — a blockbuster adaptation of the cult 1980s cartoon. But despite his extended stay, the Superman star has been spotted in public just once, when he was photographed strolling along a Gold Coast boardwalk with his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, and their rarely-seen baby.
So, where has Cavill been keeping a low profile?
Scoop hears he’s been holed up at none other than Mick Doohan’s sprawling 18-hectare Coomera estate — an ultra-luxurious property that has previously played host to Hollywood royalty, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
It’s also the infamous setting of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s alleged finger-severing altercation in 2015.
The mansion itself is nothing short of extravagant.
It features eight bathrooms with heated marble floors, a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, a private cinema, gym, multiple pool rooms, a trophy room, four offices, and a six-car garage.
Outside, there’s a private jetty, a landing strip for light aircraft, and even a designated space for a helicopter.
Despite appearing on the market several times over the past few years, the estate remains unsold.
It was first listed in March 2021 via an expression-of-interest campaign before going to auction through Amir Prestige about eighteen months later — both attempts unsuccessful.
The property is still on the market today, waiting for a buyer willing to meet its multimillion-dollar price tag.
BEN ‘DOBBO’ DOBBIN’S RADIO COMEBACK?
Just months after his shock axing from Triple M’s Rush Hour alongside Leisel Jones and Liam Flanagan, whispers are growing that Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin is gearing up for a Brisbane radio comeback—and reportedly, it’s going to be big.
While his former co-hosts Leisel Jones and Liam Flanagan have since landed a new gig, joining Spida Everitt on Triple M Gold Coast’s breakfast show—Dobbo’s next move has remained a mystery.
But according to Scoop, fans of the straight-talking radio personality won’t have to wait too long before they hear his voice back on Brisbane airwaves.
Though the details of his return are being kept under wraps, it’s understood Dobbin is set to resurface in a significant way after being dumped late last year when Triple M controversially replaced Rush Hour with the nationally syndicated Marty Sheargold Show from January 2025.
BROOKI BAKEHOUSE LAUNCHING NEW VENTURE
Blessing us with sneak-peeks on her socials yet again, Brooke Bellamy of Brooki Bakehouse has given us a cheeky look at her next big business move.
While OG fans would be accustomed to seeing Bellamy’s super-casual ‘day-in-the-life’ videos on TikTok, it looks like a professional overhaul is underway ahead of her long-awaited “Bake with Brooki” cooking classes.
Taking to Instagram stories, she teased some BTS content of the filming process, and said “I am so excited for you all to see what we’ve been working on” before tagging the cookbook’s Instagram account. A quick look at the bakewithbrooki cookbook page shows it now listed as a “cooking school” with the bio changed to feature online baking classes along with the book.
THERESE REIN’S TESLA TURN HEADS AMID RUDD – TRUMP TENSIONS
Therese Rein, wife of former Prime Minister and current US ambassador Kevin Rudd, made quite the statement in Brisbane’s James Street on Thursday — spotted zipping around in a gleaming white Tesla.
Parked outside Pottery Barn, the Tesla’s number plate TVR7 raised a few eyebrows, echoing Rudd’s famous “Kevin 07” campaign.
Dressed in an all-white ensemble to match her electric ride, Rein appeared unfazed by her husband’s reportedly ongoing friction with the new US President.
After all, Tesla is owned by Elon Musk — recently tapped by President Trump to co-chair the newly established “Department of Government Efficiency.”
With Trump on record calling Rudd “nasty” and “not the brightest bulb,” the electric connection between Rein’s vehicle choice and Trump’s new right-hand man or “first buddy” is certainly causing a buzz.
Observers on James Street were quick to note Rein’s upbeat mood as she loaded shopping bags into the back seat, possibly enjoying some space from the spotlight — or her husband.
Pottery Barn has proved popular with Brisbane’s VIP crowd lately, having also welcomed ex-soldier Ben Roberts-Smith last month.
WHAT’S IN THE AACTAS GOODIE BAGS FOR STARS
It may not come with the Oscars’ $270,000 price tag, but the AACTA Awards—Australia’s answer to Hollywood’s biggest night—will still be spoiling its star-studded guests when it hits the Gold Coast on February 7.
Celebrities at this year’s ceremony won’t be leaving empty-handed, even if the contents lean a little more towards quirky than couture.
While Oscar nominees last year scored extravagant prizes like a Swiss ski holiday and a home renovation package, this year’s AACTAs goodie bag takes a more down-to-earth approach, with a line-up that’s perhaps more … relatable?
The AACTA gift bags will include Fox & Fallow pens and notepads, a Huskee reusable cup, Mecca Cosmetica SPF 50+, The Langham sleep masks, Loco Love chocolates, Pukara Estate oils, House of Nunu plates, and Lumira perfume oil and drawer liners.
Of course, the AACTAs line-up seems a far cry from the Oscars’ all-inclusive wellness retreats and private villa stays.
Whether the stars will be thrilled or underwhelmed by their goodie bags remains to be seen.
But with Tim Tam Treatles included, it’s hard to argue against that quintessentially Aussie touch.
