The ending to Twelve Monkeys
During the film, Bruce Willis’ character, James Cole, has a reoccurring dream about a man being shot at an airport. At the end, Cole is at an airport trying to stop a doctor with the virus, but is shot by police — a child sees it happen; the young Willis, watching his own death. The virus is taken on to a plane and is used on humanity. A downer, certainly.
