The ending to the movie The Crying Game
Dil is transgender, a fact Fergus discovers halfway through the movie and after they’ve been intimate. That’s the twist, but not the ending — which is that Fergus takes the blame and jail time for a shooting she committed. The movie ends with the implication that they will be together after he is released. The twist is more about Fergus, than Dil, as he overcomes his prejudices and understands more about himself.
