After César was disfigured, he began drinking, unable to accept his new face. He arranged to be cryonically preserved, to experience lifelike, lucid dreams indistinguishable from reality, and killed himself. But reality is inserting itself into his sleep-state — and he chooses to awake and be resurrected, despite his face.
