The ending to Oldboy

Right, well, this one’s pretty full on — the titular character, Dae-su, discovers he was imprisoned by an old school colleague that he caught in an incestuous encounter with his sister. Unaware they were brother and sister, he told people what he saw and went to live elsewhere, leading to the sister’s suicide. The brother, Woo-jin, locked him up in revenge — for 15 years so Dae-su’s own daughter would be older when he was released ... and yes, it is going there.

The woman Dae-su fell in love with and slept with was, unknown to him, his own daughter — Woo-jin’s revenge for losing his own sister to suicide. He used hypnosis to trick Dae-su into seeking her out. The film ends bloodily.
