Verbal Kint is not a police snitch. He is not crippled. He is Keyser Soze himself, who does exist, and walks out of police custody as the officer interviewing him realises Soze falsified his story using items and objects scattered around the office - thus creating an iconic scene in cinema as Kint's 'limp' becomes a normal walk.
