The two men charged with murder in relation to the death of a man at Sprent in January have appeared in court.

Four people have now been charged with murder in relation to the death of Dean Jupp at his Chilcott Rd property on January 23.

They are also charged with aggravated burglary and unlawfully setting fire to property.

Mitchell Flanagan, 28, appeared briefly in the Devonport Magistrate’s Court on Thursday afternoon.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to reappear via video link on March 16.

Blaise Baddelley, 32, appeared in an after hours court session.

He has also not entered a plea to the charge.

Four people now charged over violent North West death - February 24

The number of people charged over the alleged murder of Dean Jupp at his Sprent property last month continues to grow.

25-year-old Dane Pyke, from East Devonport, was charged with murder and other offences such as aggravated burglary and unlawfully setting fire to property earlier this month.

Then on Wednesday, 18-year-old Nikiya Coleman was charged with murder and remanded in custody after a brief appearance in the Devonport Magistrate’s Court.

Now, police have charged another two people in relation to the allegedly violent incident in Chilcotts Rd on January 23.

A 28-year-old man, from West Ulverstone has been charged with murder, aggravated burglary, burglary and unlawfully setting fire to property as has a 32-year-old man from Devonport.

Both have been detained to appear in Devonport Magistrate’s Court later today.

18-year-old woman charged over Sprent killing named – February 23

A second person has been charged with murder in relation to the death of a man – and the theft of his registered firearms – at Sprent in January.

Police charged 18-year-old Nikiya Lee Coleman, from Queenstown, on Wednesday and she appeared in the Devonport Magistrate’s Court later that day.

The young woman did not enter a plea during her brief appearance.

She was remanded in custody to reappear via video like on March 11.

A 25-year-old East Devonport man has already appeared in court charged with murder in relation to the alleged violent incident in the small North West farming town on January 23.

Pyke is also charged with aggravated burglary and unlawfully setting fire to property.

Police allege Pyke stole firearms from the dead man’s property and set fire to a vehicle. Police said the man’s body was found after a member of the public reported a lot of smoke in the area.

Pyke did not enter a plea to any of the charges nor did he apply for bail. Magistrate Duncan Fairley remanded him in custody to reappear via video link on February 25.
