Peking Duk to play DJ set at the Uni Bar in Hobart on October 24

It is a bit of a risk announcing a show only a few weeks out, but that does not matter when you are Peking Duk. Where and when the electronic duo are playing.

Australian electronic music royalty Peking Duk has announced a surprise show from Hobart merely two weeks out.

The Canberra duo will play a DJ set at the Uni Bar in Hobart on October 24.

The pair have three top-ten hits to their name and two ARIA Awards.

Peking Duk are regular visitors to Tasmania, even having played in places as far-flung as St Helens for the Triple J One Night Stand in 2018.

“I’ll never forget the feeling of One Night Stand,” one-half of the duo Reuben Styles told the Mercury in 2019.

“When the lights faded I just remember the sound of 20,000 people screaming and it was terrifying and I picked up my guitar and it was freezing.

“I’ve never felt nervous before a show, and I don’t think the cold helped. The adrenaline, it was crazy. It’s got to be one of the biggest highlights of my life.”

In August, Peking Duk headlined a rave at a Bunnings store in the Melbourne suburb of Preston after somebody joked on social media about holding a concert at one of the iconic brand’s warehouses.

Tickets for the Hobart show go on sale on Thursday at 9am.
