St Vincent de Paul launch 2025 Flood Appeal to support NQ

A long-standing organisation have launched a statewide appeal to raise much needed funds for those trying to repair their homes, businesses and livelihoods. See how you can help.

In the wake of the devastating floods across North Queensland, an longstanding organisation have launched a statewide appeal to raise much needed funds for those trying to repair their homes, businesses and livelihoods.

St Vincent de Paul have announced their Flood 2025 Appeal which will work to support residents with immediate emergencies such as food, clothing and housing needs.

The charity will also work to provide long-term support in rebuilding homes and replenishing household essentials.

Chief executive of St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland Kevin Mercer said it was important for residents to know they were not alone.

“When things get tough that’s when Queenslanders step up to help each other,” he said.

“We’ve helped thousands of families rebuild their lives in times of disaster, and as long as our Society is around, we will continue to help those when it’s most needed.”

Mr Mercer said anyone wanting to donate after witnessing the devasting events are encouraged to do so.

“St Vincent de Paul has more than 130 years’ experience helping Queenslanders through extreme weather events, from floods to bushfires,” he said.

“Our members will be there to support those impacted with long-term recovery efforts.”
