South Australia’s cutest baby of 2023 can be finally revealed.

We asked proud parents to enter their bundles of joy into The Advertiser’s 2023 cutest baby competition and out of almost 150 finalists, one took the crown.

Through the competition we heard from a mum who survived a traumatic birth on her bedroom floor, an MKR star who found herself pregnant again at 47, long after she thought her baby days were over, and a mum who found out she was pregnant with twins after taking the morning after pill.

SCROLL DOWN TO MEET THE MONTHLY WINNERS

Hundreds of people entered their charming children last year when we crowned 2022’s cutest summer babies as well as SA’s cutest toddlers.

It was little Isabella from Trott Park who snagged the top spot – selected by popular public vote – with her all too perfect pose and big bow.

Mum Chantelle Wannan, 30, said she entered seven month old Isabella into the competition and then never thought anything of it until she won.

“It was such a happy shock, I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

Described as being an easy baby, some of Isabella’s favourite things to do are play with her five year old brother Lenny and watch The Wiggles.

“She was born late at 42 weeks, so she’s stubborn let’s say that,” Ms Wannan said.

“She is very cute but quite shy until she gets to know you … she just has the cheekiest smile.”

The winning photo was captured by Ms Wannan, who snapped the perfectly-timed pic just as Isabella was rolling over.

“I just took them with my phone and got lucky when she decided to roll over,” she said.

“Isabella is so loved and we have such a massive family as well so they are stoked with her.

“Her grandparents are probably going to cry with happiness.” she said.

FEBRUARY

Daisy, Somerton Park

“Daisy should be named cutest baby because she has had a rough start to her short five months of life. After three days of labour, including failed tape and gels, not dilating quick enough and having to sit on a peanut shaped exercise ball to try to get Daisy in the right position it was finally time for Daisy’s arrival but she had other ideas,” Kylie said.

MARCH

Gregory, North Adelaide

“Gregory deserves to win SA cutest baby as he is a happy boy, always smiling throughout the day. He is also very gentle and cuddly. He was our miracle baby when he entered this world and scared us with a dramatic emergency caesarean entrance. He enjoys music, art and food, lots of food and is happiest when he is surrounded by his family,” Dimitrios said.

APRIL

Ethan, Blackwood

“Ethan is our third babe. After two girls – our surprise baby ended up being a boy. He was our first baby to not be after a miscarriage and my first rough pregnancy, labour and birth. Ethan is a ball of light who has completed our family. He should be named SA’s cutest because put simply...... he is,” Sarah said.

MAY

Tyson, Reynella

“They (Tyson and brother Lachlan) are insanely cute together, they fill mummy’s heart with love and completes our family jigsaw puzzle. He was the missing piece,” Holly said.

JUNE

Benjamin, Ingle Farm

“First baby of the family, born in 5 hours from start of labour. At 12 days old he attended his first council meeting and barely made a peep, he is the son of two Councillors for the City of Salisbury. Not only is he the cutest baby, but absolutely the sweetest,” Lauren said.

JULY

Bowie, Henley Beach

“Our baby Bowie has a gorgeous dimple, cherry lips and super soft skin. After four miscarriages along came our little rainbow baby. Our little miracle. Eight hours of labour and then an emergency C section the little man finally arrived. He is absolutely so special to us. He has three siblings, 10, 15 and 17. he will be so loved,” Andrea said.
