A vacant Port Adelaide pub will become a luxurious private home featuring multiple kitchens, a basketball courtyard and a pool, planning documents reveal.
The 19th century former Port Dock Hotel, a state heritage-listed property which sold last year for more than $3m, spans 1410 sqm of land and will be converted into a single residence with many grand features.
Owner Michelle Pattison has created an Instagram page documenting her development journey, calling the property her “forever home”.
The Todd St property will have a major modern extension built onto the historic building.
An existing extension that is not heritage-listed will be knocked over and in its place a new garage will be built.
The home will feature a master bedroom with a walk-in robe and ensuite, living room, formal dining room with a library, a casual dining room, kitchen and pantry, bathroom, laundry and mud room on the ground floor.
The second floor will host two living rooms, two more bedrooms also with walk-in robes and one with an ensuite, a balcony, two bathrooms, laundry and landing area.
The existing rear hotel car park will be converted in a garage and a pool and basketball courtyard will be installed on the side of the property.
Built in 1882 the original two storey state heritage listed building which was used as a hotel for some time contained 15 rooms and features a bluestone facade.
The property was purchased on July 14 2022 for $3,080,000.
Previously it had also been known as the Port Dock Brewery Hotel.
