12-year-old girl taken to hospital after being struck by car on West Terrace

A young girl has been taken to hospital after a serious accident in Adelaide’s CBD, with the busy city road now reopened to traffic.

A young schoolgirl was taken to hospital, after being struck by a car during peak hour traffic in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred just after 4.30pm, with police and paramedics rushing to West Terrace near the intersection of Hindley Street, after reports a person had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian, a 12-year-old girl from Underdale, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

West Terrace has fully reopened after traffic was reduced to one lane for south bound motorists following the crash.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash but hasn’t not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers as they continue to investigate the incident.
