SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12
DRIVER ARRESTED ON BUILDING ROOF
A man has been arrested after running from police to hide on a building roof.
Police pulled over the man in Grange early on Saturday morning, at about 4.30am.
The patrol became suspicious the man was not who he claimed to be, and requested a fingerprint scanner be brought to the scene.
The man heard the request and ran.
Police dog Rusty was called in to find the man, locating him on the roof of a two-storey building in Terminus Street.
The 31-year-old Henley Beach man was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified and stating false details to police. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 February.
DRUNK, DRUGGED DRIVER REPORTED
A drink-driver stopped at Buchfelde also tested positive to drugs on Friday afternoon.
Just after 5pm, police pulled over a red Holden Commodore on the Northern Expressway.
The 40-year-old Salisbury North woman recorded a block alcohol reading of 0.071. She also tested positive to methamphetamine and cannabis.
She was reported for drink-driving and breaching the conditions of her probationary licence. The drug sample was sent for forensic analysis.
Also of concern to the patrol, the woman’s daughter was also a passenger in the car. The Department for Child Protection was notified of the incident.
The woman’s car was impounded for 28 days and she will be summonsed to appear in court.
DRINK-DRIVER OVERTAKES POLICE
A drink-driver blindly overtook police at Port Lincoln.
At 5.30pm on Friday evening, the gray Toyota Hilux ute overtook a police car on double barrier lines on Western Approach Road.
The driver was stopped, and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.136.
She was reported for drink driving and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence. Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and she will be summonsed to appear in court.
CAR DRIVES INTO FENCE
A driver has been arrested after crashing into a fence at Findon.
At about 2am on Saturday morning, a 43-year-old Brompton man crashed through a small brick fence at the front of a house on Findon Road, and ended up halfway into the yard.
The man was arrested and charged with driving without due care, driving unregistered, disorderly behaviour and resist arrest.
It will be alleged he caused a disturbance, yelling and carrying on in the street.
He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 February.
His Holden Commodore sedan was towed from the scene.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11
BIKIE ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
A Nomads bikie has been arrested after police found drugs and a taser at a Bolivar property.
A taser, 120g of methamphetamine and $5000 in cash were located following a tip-off.
Police arrested a 25-year-old man of no fixed address and charged him with drug trafficking and possessing a prohibited weapon.
He was refused bail.
TEEN TOOL THIEVES SNIFFED OUT
Two teenagers have been arrested after breaking into a high-rise CBD building.
On Friday at about 3.15am, the teens caught the attention of police when they entered a construction site on the corner of Currie and Burnett Street.
Police dog PD Jax and his handler found the two 17-year-olds on level six.
The pair, one from Glenside and the other from Fullarton, allegedly had in their possession a large amount of power tools including drills, circular saws and various other hand tools.
The two teens were arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.
They are both expected to be refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court today.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10
METH DRIVER CRASHES INTO SKATEBOARDER AND HOUSE
A woman who was allegedly on meth crashed into a skateboarder and then into a house at Hackham West.
Police allege the 53-year-old woman failed to give way to a car, causing her to clip it and then hit a man riding a skateboard.
The car then went off the road and crashed through a fence, a veranda and stopped when it hit a house.
The 40-year-old skateboarder was treated at the scene and taken to Flinders Medical Centre with a suspected broken leg.
A drug test found the driver was allegedly on methamphetamine at the time of the crash and her licence had been disqualified until May 2023.
She was reported for drug driving, driving disqualified and failing to give way.
She will face court at a later date.
TEENAGE FIREBUG BUSTED AT PORT LINCOLN
A 15-year-old Port Lincoln boy has been reported for starting a bushfire in his home town on Thursday morning.
The blaze started on the outskirts of Port Lincoln in scrubland adjacent to Walter Street shortly after 10am.
About half an acre of land was burnt before two MFS units extinguished the blaze.
No buildings or property were damaged in the fire.
DRIVER WALKS FROM CRASH SCENE IN CBD
An unlicensed drink driver has been arrested after police say he caused a three-car crash in the CBD, before walking from his vehicle on Wednesday.
The crash happened around 2.30pm on North Terrace near Frome Road. Members of the public flagged down police, telling them the suspect had walked from the car.
Police found the suspect walking west on North Terrace. He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.239, almost five times over the legal limit.
It is alleged the man did not hold a driver’s licence and was breaching an alcohol interlock system installed in his car.
The 28-eyar-old was arrested and charged with driving without due care, failing to stop at a crash, drink driving, driving unlicensed and contravening a mandatory alcohol interlock.
The man lost his licence for a further 12 months, and his car was impounded for 28 days.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
DRIVER SIX TIMES OVER CRASHES AT GLENELG
A driver who blew more than six times over the legal blood alcohol limit after crashing and fleeing at Glenelg South has been reported.
A Subaru sedan was reported to have left the scene of a crash about 3.30pm Wednesday.
Police found a car stopped on Maroong Ave, and breath tested the driver who allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.315, more than six times over the legal limit of 0.05.
Inquiries revealed the driver had crashed into a Toyota Sedan parked on nearby Farrell Street before driving off. The 35-year-old Glenelg woman was reported for drink driving, driving without due care, and leaving the scene of a crash. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. Her car was towed from the scene, and the woman lost her licence for a year.

CARE WORKER ARRESTED
A 53-year-old female care worker from the eastern suburbs has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
DRUNK DRIVER HITS TRUCK
A man who blew more than four times the legal limit crashed into the back of a moving truck on Tuesday.
The disqualified driver, who was behind the wheel of an unregistered Holden, then allegedly threatened the truck driver with a pair of scissors.
The 29-year-old Pukatja man – who wrote off his car – was taken to hospital following the crash on the Augusta Highway at Miranda and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.223.
The truck driver was unharmed and his vehicle only sustained minor damage.
Police charged the drunk driver with aggravated assault, driving without due care, drink driving and driving unlicensed and unregistered.
WOMAN DRIVES INTO SUPERMARKET
An elderly woman drove into a supermarket at Hove on Tuesday night.
Shortly after 6.30pm, emergency services were called to the Foodland supermarket on Brighton Road after a Toyota sedan clipped the thigh of a pedestrian before driving through a window and brick wall.
The 77-year-old driver from Somerton Park was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with minor injuries. The pedestrian was not injured.
SES attended the scene to secure the structure and have begun an investigation.
MAN THROWN FROM TRACTOR
A man was thrown from his tractor at Penfield on Wednesday morning.
His tractor collided with a ute, and witnesses allege the ute’s tray caught fire after the crash.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING TEENS
After releasing an image of a suspect wanted for acting indecently towards two teenagers in Rundle Mall, a man has been arrested.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8
MAN DIES AFTER CRASH LAST WEEK
An 82-year-old man has died in hospital following a crash at Highbury last week.
The MG driver was involved in a crash with a Mazda SUV on Lower North East Road last Tuesday.
He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with fractures at the time, but died overnight.
The 62-year-old woman driving the Mazda, and her 15 and 17-year-old passengers were taken to Modbury Hospital with minor injuries.
The man’s death is the 90th road fatality this year.
MURRAY BRIDGE FIREBUG CHARGED
A woman has been charged over a small bushfire at Murray Bridge last month.
Police allege the 34-year-old local woman started the fire at Swanport Road, near a South Eastern Freeway underpass, on November 26 and fled the scene.
It did not cause any property damage.
Police located the woman after receiving information from the public and charged her with causing a bushfire.
She has been refused bail by a court and will reappear at a later date.
DRUGS AND STOLEN GOODS FOUND AT MURRAY BRIDGE
A man has been arrested after police uncovered drugs and stolen goods at a Murray Bridge property last month.
Police searched a home on Allen Street in late November where they allegedly uncovered two small bags of meth, two sandwich bags of cannabis, as well as drug paraphernalia and stolen items including perfume. The suspect was not home at the time of the search.
Police later arrested a 48-year-old man and charged him wit trafficking in a controlled drug. He was bailed to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court in January.
RIVERLAND TRIO BUSTED
Police have arrested three people after their patrol car was sideswiped at a Berri camping ground.
On Friday afternoon at 2.05pm, a maroon Holden Commodore allegedly drove past the police car, hitting it on the side, causing minor damage and driving away.
Road spikes were then set-up, which slashed the car’s tyres, making it lose control and crash into a tree.
The driver and two passengers fled from the scene into a nearby bush.
Police searched the area and found the two passengers. The 34-year-old woman and 19-year-old man, both from Renmark, were both arrested and charged with hinder police and possess house breaking implement.
A short time later, police say they found the driver, a 27-year-old Barmera man, hiding in a paddock. He was arrested and charged with a number of offences including; hinder, dangerous driving, act likely to cause harm, drive disqualified, carry offensive weapon, possess ammunition and possess house breaking implement.
The man also allegedly had a knife in his possession, and following a search of the car police say they found insecure ammunition and bolt cutters.
The two passengers were bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court in January. The driver appeared in court on Friday, he was remanded to reappear on 21 December.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7
WRONG TURN COSTS DRINK DRIVER
A woman has lost her licence after trying to avoid a breath test over the weekend.
The 38-year old woman was driving on the Lincoln Highway at Poonindie – north of Port Lincoln – on Friday night.
Police at an RBT station spotted her driving her Toyota ute down a dead-end road that leads to a private property.
She allegedly blew 0.111 when police caught up with her.
She was reported for exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit, lost her licence for six months and had her car impounded for 28 days.
She will face court at a later date.
O-BAHN BUS DERAILS AT KLEMZIG
A bus has driven off the O-Bahn tracks at Klemzig Interchange.
At about 8.30am on Monday morning, emergency services were called to the Klemzig Interchange to find a bus partially off the tracks.
Fortunately, the bus was free of passengers and the driver was not injured.
A crane has been called in to put the bus back on the tracks.
The O-Bahn track is currently closed between Klemzig and Paradise. O-Bahn services are detouring via arterial roads, experiencing minor delays, however no stops are missed.
Buses are still running from Klemzig Interchange, but delays are expected throughout Monday morning.
P-PLATER CRASHES INTO ABERFOYLE PARK SPORTS CENTRE
A P-plater has been reported after crashing into the wall of a sports centre at Aberfoyle Park.
Police and emergency services were called to the Happy Valley Sports and Social Club on Access Road just before 1.30am on Monday, after reports a Ford Festiva had hit the wall.
The 19-year-old Woodcroft man was not injured, and allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.041.
Being a probationary licence holder, the man violated the conditions and was reported for driving without due care.
He will be summonsed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.
THREE FIRE BUGS ARRESTED
Police have arrested a trio of fire bugs after they allegedly set grass alight at Salisbury Park on Sunday afternoon.
At about 3.30pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to Harry Bowey Reserve after reports a number of grass fires were burning in the area.
Witnesses reported that three people fled the scene of one fire.
After obtaining CCTV footage, police identified and found three suspects in a nearby vehicle.
A 24-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, all from Salisbury Park, were charged with causing a bushfire. They were refused bail and are expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING CAR BREAK-IN
A man has been arrested following a car break-in at Plympton Park on Monday morning.
At about 3am, CCTV captured the man forcing his way into a car parked on Arthur Street.
The man was seen rummaging through the car before walking off. Nothing was reported stolen.
The police canine unit tracked the man to Pleasant Ave where he was subsequently arrested
FIRE AT WATERLOO CORNER DELIBERATE
Police are investigating a fire at an abandoned house at Waterloo Corner.
Around 7pm on Sunday night, patrols and fire crews were called to Huxtable Road, after reports of smoke coming from the house.
The property was extensively damaged. Fire Cause Investigators will attempt to identify the cause on Monday evening.

RUBBISH DUMP FIRE AT LOWER LIGHT
Authorities are warning residents in the Lower Light area to be aware of smoke drifting on to the Port Wakefield Highway as fire crews fight to contain a dump fire.
The fire broke out about 7pm Saturday at an industrial site on the Port Wakefield Highway. Crews issued an advice message for the smoke at 9.30am Sunday.
“The incident is causing a lot of thick black smoke to be released north of Carslake Road, and south of Hunters Road, going across Port Wakefield Road.
“The CFS advises to avoid this area where possible and keep windows and doors closed.”

SERVO WORKER ASSAULTED IN CROYDON PARK ROBBERY
A service station worker has been left “extremely shaken” after he was threatened and assaulted at his Croydon Park workplace in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The suspect entered the Regency Road service station about 3.15am, threatening and assaulting the worker before jumping the counter and stealing cash.
Police say the victim was extremely shaken and received minor injuries.
The suspect was last seen running off towards South Road.
He was wearing a black mask, grey hoodie and dark pants.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

MAN CAUGHT STEALING ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE
A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing copper from a construction site at Modbury on Sunday morning.
Police responded to an alarm sounding at a construction site on Corio Street about 4.10am Sunday.
CCTV showed a suspect on site at a group of townhouses being built.
Police dog Stoic located the suspect hiding on the second floor of one of the premises, who was arrested by officers.
He was found with copper piping allegedly stolen from the property.
The 32-year-old Modbury man was charged with being unlawfully on premises, and theft.
He is expected to be bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
