Violent bus attacker remains on the run with CCTV released in a bid to identify him

Police are appealing for the public’s help in the hunt for a man with a goatee who punched an Adelaide bus driver in the head after boarding at Grenfell St.

Police have released pictures of a bully who punched a bus driver in the head before breaking his glasses in Adelaide's CBD in a bid to identify him.

The incident that happened about 2pm Saturday May 21 after the suspect boarded the bus at Grenfell St and punched the driver when the bus stopped on North East Rd at Collinswood.

After the punch, the man took off the driver’s glasses and snapped them in half them before getting off the bus in the company of another woman.

The suspect is described as being caucasian, aged in his mid 20s with a slim build, fair hair and goatee beard.

He was wearing a dark jacket with Nautica written in white on the back of the collar with dark track pants and he was carrying cans of alcohol.

It comes after Freedom of Information documents revealed Adelaide’s most dangerous bus routes.
The transport workers Union called for safety reforms and said there would be hundreds of bus driver assaults going unaccounted for because drivers don’t bother reporting them.
