Updated: South Australia Christmas weather will be a mixed bag with sun and rain

Christmas is almost here and the early forecast is in. Here’s the latest on what to expect for the merry holiday period.

Storms and flash flooding impact Adelaide

Adelaide’s fickle and hectic weather will continue into the Christmas holidays bringing in both sunny and rainy days.

Early forecasts via AccuWeather reveal December 19-23, will be a run of warm days with sun and clouds, reaching a top of 26C.

Christmas Eve in the metropolitan area will take a cool turn with heavy clouds and morning rain taking over but the temperature will stay at 27C.

Then the big day, Christmas, there will be a slight temperature drop to 23C with the clouds remaining for the day.

But afterwards the weather will begin climbing.

Boxing Day will jump back to 26C and each day increasing to 29C, 30C and 31C with a few clouds bringing a breeze.

Meanwhile, Port Lincoln weather will be the reverse of Adelaide CBD.

December 22-23 will be chilly, sitting at 23C it is predicted to be cloudy with a few morning showers.

But Christmas Eve will be 22C with clouds and a little rain.

Christmas Day will be a sunny 24C.

The weather will also keep getting warmer in the following days for people to enjoy their holidays to their fullest reaching a top of 30C on December 29.

And Santa’s run through Mount Gambier will be quite similar, December 23 will be 19C and raining but the main event will be slightly warmer at 23C and then 20C with clouds.

Mount Gambier’s Boxing Day will be a cool 21C.

The weather forecast for Renmark’s Christmas holidays will be a sunny streak of days except thick clouds on Christmas Day itself.

Renmark’s Christmas Eve will be a top of 23C, the following day will be 25C with thick clouds, and then Boxing day will be 29C.

Afterwards the heat will kick in, as temperatures remain somewhere in the low thirties.

And Whyalla will already be enjoying the summer weather with a Christmas Eve forecast of 30C with a few showers and Christmas will be a sunny 27C.

Boxing Day will be 30C and the days will only get hotter from there until the end of the week.
