A dramatic chopper chase across Adelaide’s western suburbs has led to the arrest of two teenage boys on Sunday.

Just before 11.30pm on Sunday, police spotted a red Mazda sedan speeding on Francis St at Port Adelaide.

PolAir chased the car, which police say had been stolen from a Somerton Park address on Thursday, as it sped east on the Port River Expressway then south on the North-South Motorway.

The car made its way towards the western suburbs, eventually stopping in Kintore St at Mile End.

The driver, a boy from Mile End, and the passenger, a boy from Thebarton, both 17, were arrested in nearby Rose St.

They were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and breach of bail.

Both boys did not apply for bail and will appear in court on Monday.

Meanwhile, car thieves left two bicycles at the scene of a crime at Willunga at the weekend.

Sometime on Saturday night, a Mitsubishi ute was stolen from the driveway of a Willunga address before it was torched in a parking lot on Grainger Rd at Somerton Park just before 1.30am on Sunday.

The fire was extinguished by MFS crews but the vehicle was burnt out.

The two bicycles were found abandoned near the Willunga property with police believing the thieves arrived on the bikes before stealing the ute.

Police are calling on the public to come forward if they know the bike owners.

Anyone who can assist police can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
