Emergency services rush to another serious crash hours after two women injured on Sturt Highway at Old Calperum

Police are at the scene of a two-car serious crash in the Riverland, just hours after two women were taken to hospital in another serious accident in the region.

Two cars have been involved in a serious crash in the Riverlands, forcing traffic restrictions in the area.

Just after 4.15pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Pennyfield Rd and Jury Rd at Glossop, near Barmera in the Riverland, after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with traffic restrictions in place.

Crash at Old Calperum

Meanwhile, Sturt Highway at Old Calperum has reopened to traffic after a taxi and a Hyundai sedan collided in the Riverland.

The road was closed between Berri and Renmark for more than two hours after the crash happened about 12.30pm Thursday.

Two women were taken to a hospital in Berri with non-life threatening injuries.
