Two men and two youths have been tracked down and charged following a crime spree through the northern and western suburbs, while one suspect remains on the run.

Police believe the gang began their crime spree round 1am on Sunday morning in Ingle Farm when they allegedly broke into a house and assaulted the 25-year-old occupant, punching him in the face and demanding cash.

Two of the group held the victim upstairs while others searched the house. It is understood some of the suspects were armed with a knife.

The group left the home empty-handed in a silver sedan, but were seen shortly after running from a house at Windsor Gardens, before fleeing in the same sedan.

The thieves stole wireless earbuds and a smart watch and the occupant was not home at the time.

Around an hour later, the 30-year-old occupant of a Hendon address heard a loud bang at the front of his house and on investigation, discovered the front window had been smashed and the front door damaged.

The suspects did not gain entry, but weren’t done yet.

Just before 3am, the 73-year-old occupant of a West Lakes house woke to noises and saw a figure at her bedroom door.

The woman arose and discovered her handbag and keys had been stolen.

Witnesses reported seeing five suspects breaking into the property and PolAir saw a silver Holden sedan leaving the area.

A patrol attempted to stop the car on Bartley Terr. but was unsuccessful.

PolAir tracked the car from above along the Port River Expressway and Elder Smith Dr before it stopped on Grasswren Way and five people ran from the car.

Police Dog Rusty and his handler went to the scene and with the assistance of PolAir and patrols located four of the five suspects.

Police searched the car and found the keys from the West Lakes home along with gloves, knife and alcohol.

A 17-year-old boy from Davoren Park, a 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man from Munno Para West and a 21-year-old man from Blakeview, have been charged with an array of serious offences including aggravated serious criminal trespass, unlawful detention, theft and aggravated assault.

The group have been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates and Youth Court.

The Holden sedan used in the crime spree was not stolen and has undergone forensic examination.

Investigations are continuing including the whereabouts of the remaining suspect.

It comes as a warehouse was targeted by a group of thieves in two separate break-ins in Adelaide’s northwest overnight.

Around midnight, police responded to an alarm activation at a warehouse on Pinda St in Kilkenny.

Officers set up cordons around the premises and Police Dog Rusty and his handler were sent in to do the heavy lifting.

Rusty found two men in a shipping container, a 49-year-old from Pennington and a 43-year-old from Rosewater.

The pair were charged with being unlawfully on premises.

A few hours later at around 4:45am, patrols responded to another activation at the same premises and three men were seen on CCTV.

Patrols set up cordons for a second time and Rusty was called back in, locating all three suspects.

A 63-year-old man from Woodville Park, a 43-year-old man from Alberton and a 38-year-old man from Adelaide were charged with being unlawfully on premises and going equipped.

All five men have been bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in November.

The warehouse is said to be abandoned and police do not believe the two incidents are linked.
