Two more men, aged 20 and 40, have been arrested after an investigation into a deliberately lit fire at an Adelaide vet clinic in March.
Just before 2.30am, the Metropolitan Fire Service responded to a fire at the Pets Health Hilton Vet Centre on Sir Donald Bradman Dr, Hilton, on Thursday March 7.
Police said two women were allegedly seen approaching the building, smashing the front window shortly before the fire started inside the property.
Following an investigation, Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch and Western District police charged two men, a 20-year-old and a 40-year-old, both from Taperoo on Wednesday.
The pair have both been charged with one count of arson and were refused police bail to appear in court on Thursday.
The 20-year-old will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court, while the 42-year-old will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court.
On the same day the Pets Health Vet Clinic was set on fire, a vet clinic at O’Halloran Hill was also targeted but minimal damage was caused from the attempted arson.
It comes after Dimitri Gueorguiev Iliev, 33, of Findon was charged with one count each of arson and attempted arson for both vet clinic attacks – both, The Advertiser understands, owned by the same family.
The Pets Health Hilton Vet Centre blaze took six appliances and 22 firefighters to battle the fire which tore through the clinic and caused $150,000 worth of damage.
No animals were there overnight, but tearful clinic owner Julie Munchenberg told FIVEaa her business had been “destroyed”.
