Two missing Pimpala Primary School students found at Morphett Vale massage business

Two primary students, aged 6 and 7, wandered from their southern suburbs school across busy roads to a massage clinic, sparking a police search.

Two young Pimpala Primary students were found at a massage business after briefly going missing from school on Tuesday when they were given permission to go to the toilet, sparking fears for their safety.

A spokesperson for the Education Department said the incident occurred 15 minutes before the end of the school day.

“Two students were provided with permission to go to the toilet but decided to walk off-site,” the spokesperson said.

“Their absence was noticed within minutes and their parents/carers, who were at the school, were advised.”

Police were also called to the school to assist with the search.

The Advertiser understands the two girls were aged 6 and 7 and managed to walk at least 1.6 kilometres from the school, crossing Main South Rd – one of Adelaide's busiest roads – without adult supervision.

The students were found at Floreat Natural & Remedial Therapies at Acre Ave in Morphett Vale.

A receptionist from the massage clinic confirmed that the girls came in just after 4pm and remained at the business for around 15 minutes before police retrieved them.

“They wandered in and a client in here asked if they were lost,” she said.

“As far as I’m concerned, they didn’t really know where they were, they didn’t have any school diaries or anything on them.”

The business offers a range of massage services, including remedial and aromatherapy massage. Their customers include NDIS clients and those involved in car accidents.

The department spokesperson said the students were “safely located at a business” around an hour after they went missing.

“The school also advised the Department for Education and wellbeing support has been provided to the students, their families and staff,” the spokesperson said.
