Pursuit ends in arrest on SE Freeway, two boys arrested and after West Lakes car break-in

A Mildura man has been arrested on the South-Eastern Freeway after allegedly leading police on an epic chase in a car stolen interstate. Watch the video.

A man driving a car nabbed from Victoria has been arrested after a dramatic pursuit through the Adelaide Hills that ended on the South Eastern Freeway.

The Holden Statesman with Victoria number platers was seen by police travelling on Flaxmill Rd at Morphett Vale about 9.45am Tuesday.

The car was not pursued but investigations revealed it had been stolen from Mildura on Monday evening.

The car was again spotted heading east on Chandlers Hill Rd towards Cherry Gardens and was followed on to Scott Creek Rd.

The car was successfully spiked on Longwood Rd but continued driving on to Stock Rd towards Mylor.

The car was tracked by the police helicopter on Old Mt Barker Rd and Arbury Park Rd where it drove on to a private property and crashed into an unmarked police car as it left the property.

It was spiked again and all four tyres deflated but it continued driving and eventually came to a rest on the SE Freeway at Stirling.

A Mildura man, 31, was charged with dangerous driving to escaped police pursuit and a raft of other offences.

He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, another Victorian man has been charged following a pursuit in SA’s southeast on Tuesday.

Just before 3pm, patrols attempted to pull over a Holden Commodore wagon for a routine traffic stop at Glencoe.

The driver sped off and patrols pursued the car towards Mt Gambier, where it was successfully spiked on Penola Road.

The vehicle was dumped in Yeates Street before the 25-year-old driver was arrested in a nearby yard.

The driver has been charged with drive dangerously to evade police pursuit and two counts of driving unlicensed.

The man made did not apply for bail and will appear in the Mt Gambier Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

It comes after a couple in a stolen car were arrested after leading police on a pursuit in Millicent.

The stolen Victorian Honda Accord was seen driving just before 2pm in the town on Monday and a pursuit ensued.

Tyres were successfully spiked on Banya Rd and the vehicle continued driving through the township of Rendelsham.

It eventually stopped on Penola Rd and the pair in the car were arrested.

A Sturt woman, 20, the driver, was charged with illegal use, driving disqualified and driving dangerously to evade police.

She was refused bail to appear in court on Tuesday.

The male passenger from Millicent, 29, was charged with illegal use and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
