Tributes flow for 23-year-old Thebarton crash victim, Alek Henschke

A young motorcyclist who died in a crash at Thebarton has been remembered a “genuine bloke” who was “always the life of the party”.

A young motorcyclist who died in a crash at Thebarton has been remembered as a “genuine bloke” who was “always the life of the party”.

Alek “Tucka” Henschke, 23, of Para Hills, died after his Yamaha bike crashed into four stationary cars on Port Road at the James Congdon Drive intersection on Friday morning.

His heartbroken family and friends shared their grief on Saturday, describing him as a wonderful person who will never be forgotten.

Brother Kamryn Henschke said family was everything to Alek.

“He was like, ‘Blood is blood, don’t forget that. You’re the most important thing to me’,” he told 7News.

“It was amazing to see so many people coming out and giving their love (for him).”

Friend Nathan Griffiths posted a series of photos of Mr Henschke on social media and paid tribute to his “best mate”.

“I’s literally speechless. i still cant believe that you are gone. In such a little time you became one of the best mates anyone could ask for. I sat in your room today waiting for you to come home in disbelief,” he said.

“Rest easy bro, forever missed but never forgotten. I love you brother.”

Edward Nance wrote: “RIP Tucka Henschke. Thankyou for all the good times we had, they will not be forgotten. Always the life of the party. Fly high bro.”

Amber-Skye Cavallaro shared a photo of her with Mr Henschke, which she captioned: “Forever in our hearts, and I hope with everything in me that there’s a way you can see our love for you. Rest in paradise.”

Another friend, Connor Matthews, remembered Mr Henschke for his “energy” and compassion towards others.

“The energy you always gave off was like no other,” Mr Matthews wrote.

“Always looked out for everyone like we were family.”

Sykes Oner said his late friend was “such a genuine bloke”.

“You gave me a home when I needed it most and food when you needed to eat but made sure I was fed. I can’t believe this has happened to you and I wish I could hang with you one more time,” he wrote on Facebook.

A witness to the accident, who was in one of the four stationary cars involved, said she believed Mr Henschke clipped one car, lost control and then ricocheted off the other three – including hers – as he snaked down the road at high speed. Mr Henschke was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.

Mr Henshcke’s death is the 28th fatality on South Australian roads this year – at the same time last year was 12.

In response to the spiralling road toll, the state government has announced that a new hard hitting motorcycle safety campaign will soon be released to educate road users.
