TreeClimb opens in Adelaide Parklands
A NEW view of Adelaide is now available — from up in the trees. TreeClimb, Australia’s first inner-city aerial park, is set to open in the southern parklands.
A NEW view of Adelaide is coming — from up in the trees. Adelaide’s TreeClimb is open to the public on Sunday.
The climb, on the corner of Greenhill and Unley roads, has seven treetop courses which include Tarzan swings, trapezes and flying carpets — more than enough to monkey around.
The “grand” course has four levels of difficulty — you are advised to work your way up after the practice course.
There are three courses specially for children. There is no age limit, but they do have to be 1m tall.
Each climb begins with a safety training session and lasts about two hours. It costs $39 for adults and $29 for children.
Danni Robson, general manager of TreeClimb, said they had worked closely with the city council and Park Lands Authority to develop the climb — Australia’s first inner-city aerial park.
“It’s an experience that will give city dwellers and South Australians alike a chance to see a bird’s-eye view of South Australia’s capital, and it is the perfect way to genuinely appreciate our tree-scaped city,” Ms Robson said.
“We’ve worked with French high ropes construction company ALTUS to design and construct the various course challenges.
“Local company Steventons have built the eco-friendly cafe, office and check-in zone.”
State Minister for Sport, Corey Wingard, cuts the ribbon on Saturday and Ms Robson said, “we are so excited to hit the ground running this weekend as people get in line to experience this … challenging nature-based activity.”
