Dashcam footage has captured a nine-car pile-up on the Southern Expressway, with one person rescued after their car was flipped on to its roof.
Commuters were slowed to a standstill at about 7.30am this morning, after the smash near the Seacombe Rd overpass at Bedford Park.
Video obtained by 7NEWS Adelaide shows the moment the vehicles collided, with a Mazda pushed up against the wall and overturned.
“I’ve got to get to hospital ... there’s a car on the roof,” a man can be heard saying.
A nurse and doctor involved in the accident helped rescue the Mazda driver from his car and provided aid until emergency services arrived.
He was taken to Flinders Medical Centre in a stable condition to be assessed.
One northbound lane was closed until about 9am, causing traffic congestion for several kilometres behind the scene.
TRAM COLLISION
Traffic was also slowed on the edge of the CBD after a tram collided with a car at the intersection of Greenhill Rd and Peacock Rd, near Stop 1 Greenhill Rd.
The crash occurred around 5:40am Tuesday morning and caused service and traffic delays.
A commuter said an announcement at the City South tram stop at the corner of Halifax St and King William Rd told waiting passengers a road incident had occurred further south and there would be a lengthy delay.
It is believed there were no passengers on the tram and no reported injuries.
Services have since resumed as per normal scheduling.
A Department for Infrastructure and Transport roadwork and incidents map shows a traffic delay approaching the intersection from the east.
