TRADERS are frustrated, but residents have mixed views on the Norwood Food, Wine and Music Festival's scrapping.

Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Council pulled the event from its 2012/13 budget at a meeting last week (Tuesday, April 17), citing shrinking sponsorship, declining trader participation and spiralling costs, the Eastern Courier Messenger reports.

The February event has been held on The Parade each year since 1993, attracting up to 100,000 people.

Bath Hotel owner Tony Franzon said he was "extremely disappointed" the event had been dumped from Norwood’s social calendar.
