Tougher Restrictions Set To Impact SA’s New Year Celebrations 27/12/21

Premier Steven Marshall says new restrictions limiting capacities in pubs, restaurants and gyms are vital to stop “thousands and thousands’’ of new Covid-19 cases sweeping through the state every day.

After a slow start, record online purchases and shoppers arriving later in the day   were expected to help the state hit its $1.36bn Boxing Day spending target.

When a swarm of people rushed on to the grounds of T.K. Shutter Reserve at a Christmas party in 1987, Annette Coscia just thought the big man in red had arrived earlier than expected. Little did she know that partygoers were running towards her five-year-old son, who fell about 4m from a jumping castle.

And in sport, Pat Cummins decided it was gloves off on Boxing Day as he floored England with the knockout punch that is set to deliver the Ashes for Australia.
