Adelaide Oval has hit back after a pair of ‘fake tradies’ took social media by storm when they walked straight past security to catch a glimpse of the sold-out Showdown on Saturday night.
Content creators from TikTok page ‘Be the One’ were responsible for the stunt, which was among a series of videos where they pretended to be tradesmen to access free perks.
‘Aussie’ and ‘Patto’ got decked out in their hi-vis in a city carpark before walking across the Riverbank Bridge towards the stadium to try their luck.
In a statement, Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority said it was “disappointing when people deliberately choose to do the wrong thing – even if they think it’s a joke, we don’t see that way,” the statement read.
“Having said that, we have learned from this.
“It appears that the individuals entered during a staff cross over window for staff between the SANFL opener and AFL gates opening.
“This has now been rectified.”
A TikTok video showed the pair – with just a clipboard in hand – walking straight past security into the ground more than an hour before the clash between the Crows and Port was due to start.
.
“Stick close, stick close, let’s go,” Aussie can be heard saying in the video.
“Straight through, we are certainly most in right now, this is fantastic.”
All of a sudden their free Adelaide Oval tour was underway.
The pair first climbed the eastern stand and settled in to some empty seats with a bucket of chips
They then walked around to the northern hill to meet some of the fans.
“Do you guys mind if we get a video saying ‘Go Crows?” they said.
The pair appeared to depart the ground before the start of the game with Patto pretty happy with their efforts.
“We did it, thank you very much,” he said as they exited the stadium.
“Comment where we should go next.”
The video has had more than 860,000 views on TikTok but not all followers are convinced the boys were being totally truthful.
“You can hear the beep of the scanned ticket,” one person commented.
The Advertiser attempted to contact the pair.
