Three teenage boys will face court on Friday charged over an alleged northern suburbs crime spree – with police on the hunt for a fourth accomplice.
Around 12.15am on Friday, officers responded to reports a Mitsubishi Outlander had been stolen during a home invasion on the Strand at Lightsview. The vehicle was electronically tracked to Briar Ave at Medindie.
When an unmarked police vehicle approached the SUV, the stolen car collided with the patrol car, causing minor damage, police allege.
Two suspects attempted to flee from the scene but were apprehended by the plain clothes officers. The stolen SUV and two remaining suspects drove off east along Briar Ave.
It is alleged the group broke into another home on Briar Ave, stealing bags and car keys.
Police continued to track the SUV to Harvey Ave at Gilles Plains, where it was dumped.
Officers cordoned off the area and found a third suspect with the assistance of police dog Zeus.
A 15-year-old Craigmore boy, a 14-year-old from West Lakes and a 14-year-old from Taperoo were arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft, illegal use and going equipped to commit an offence.
The eldest teenager was further charged with driving offences in relation to the collision.
All three will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on March 17.
Investigations are continuing to identify and locate a fourth suspect.
