A third round of the SA Great State Vouchers will be up for grabs late next month – and this time only experiences will be on offer.
More than 500 tourism-experience businesses, such as shark-cage diving, charter helicopter and winery operators, are expected to register to take part in the initiative.
The third round differs from the first two, which provided vouchers for accommodation.
Vouchers valued at $50, $100 and $200 will be on offer.
Premier Steven Marshall said the new round was “designed to get people out and about exploring our state and our great experiences”.
“We know that the Great State Vouchers have been enormously popular but most importantly enormously helpful to our economy in South Australia,” he said.
“They’ve injected tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars into our economy and created tens of thousands of bed nights in South Australia.”
South Australian Tourism Commission chief executive officer Rodney Harrex said the decision was made to dedicate round three to tourism experiences after speaking with businesses and what support and assistance they needed.
He said some vouchers would be made available to interstate visitors.
The first round of the vouchers launched in October, with discounts of up to $100 on accommodation across the state.
The vouchers were snapped up within 90 minutes and about 41 per cent of the vouchers were redeemed.
The second round, which opened in January, sold out within 40 minutes.
About 50 per cent of these vouchers were redeemed.
The tourism commission said the redemption rate was a “highly successful level of redemption”.
