Adelaide airport workers fill the terminal to protest over conditions and payment

ADELAIDE airport workers have filled the terminal waving union placards to protest over poor conditions and payment.

ADELAIDE airport workers filled the terminal waving union placards to protest alleged poor conditions and payment.

They’re demanding their employees address low pay, forced part time jobs, casual work and split shifts. The protest could impact travel times and cause disruptions. The working conditions cause high turnover rates and chronic fatigue which is risking safety and security at airports, a media statement released through the Transport Workers Union said. They also claim staff with aviation ground services company Aerocare are forced to stay at the airport for over 15 hours a day because of split shifts, while being paid just six hours.
